The Auburn School District Board of Directors has commissioned a Citizens Ad Hoc Committee to study school attendance areas and current and future facility needs. Auburn School District is asking for volunteers, both parents and community members, to assist in developing plans to meet the growing student population in the Auburn School District.
The National Title I Association announced Evergreen Heights Elementary has been named a National Title I Distinguished School. Evergreen Heights Elementary is one of up to 100 schools throughout the country that is being nationally recognized for exceptional student achievement in 2014.
Auburn School District is now accepting referrals for the 2015-16 Highly Capable Program, a program that serves exceptionally intelligent, intellectually gifted students whose needs may not be easily met in the general program.

For the 28th year in a row, the Auburn School District received the Association of School Business Officials International’s (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award for having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability.
Ryan Van Quill will represent Auburn School District Director District 5 and replaces Lisa Connors who resigned in September. The Board of Directors unanimously selected Van Quill from three applicants interviewed during a special Board meeting November 17.
